ART. 2 – ORGANIZATION

The organization of Aconcagua Ultra Trail 2027 is managed by TMX TEAM and MKM.

ART. 3 – GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS

General Information

This race presents unique characteristics, exposing runners to a highly demanding high-mountain course, altitude, and extreme and rapidly changing weather conditions.

The Organization has a Race Direction Team and a Race Director, who will ensure compliance with this regulation and make decisions regarding any aspect of the event.

There will be a professional assistance team in the high-altitude section, including Park Rangers, High Altitude Doctors, Rescue Patrol, properly identified Staff, and PAS Chiefs at Horcones, Confluencia and Francia. They are authorized to make decisions validated by the Direction Team.

The decisions of the Direction Team and Race Director regarding participants, routes, timings, rankings, race termination, etc., are final and not subject to appeal.

These decisions may include requiring runners to begin descent immediately and stop racing. The responsible staff member will notify the organization and any necessary support teams.

In the high-altitude section, runners must remember they are responsible for self-evacuation to PAS Horcones.

We understand these decisions can be frustrating, but they are made by highly experienced mountain and altitude professionals, always prioritizing runner safety.

If a runner decides to continue despite the decision made by the responsible Staff, they do so under their own responsibility and without organizational support.

Questions & Inquiries

Any participant questions regarding technical aspects of the course, competition, rankings, etc., should be addressed to the Direction Team via: info@aconcaguaultratrail.com

Suspension & Modifications

The Organization may suspend and/or postpone the event due to public safety, public events, vandalism, weather conditions, pandemics or health reasons, unforeseen circumstances, force majeure, etc.

If the race is canceled for reasons beyond the Organization’s control, including those listed above, the paid registration will be credited for the next edition, with no additional cost. Registration fees are non-refundable.

Due to the specific characteristics of the race, rapidly changing and/or extreme weather conditions may require route changes for safety reasons.

If so, the new route will be communicated accordingly, including on race day (before the start) or during the race. Changes will be properly marked.

Runners are required to watch the technical briefing, which will be published on the Aconcagua Ultra Trail 2027 website and social media. It will include essential information regarding routes, safety gear, and other updates.

Image Rights

The Organization and sponsors reserve the right to use, reproduce, distribute, and/or publish photos, films, videos, recordings, and/or any visual media of the runners without economic compensation, including social media and Spartan circuit platforms.

ART. 4 – REGISTRATION / CHECK-IN & KIT PICK-UP
Registrations are subject to availability and must be completed through the official race website.

The registration process, entry fees, deadlines, and payment methods are detailed at aconcaguaultratrail.com.

The registration fee DOES NOT include the entrance fee to Aconcagua Provincial Park. Information regarding fees and payment methods for entry to Aconcagua Provincial Park is detailed during the registration process.

The registration fee does not include transfer services from Penitentes to the Start, nor from the Finish to Penitentes.

No registrations will be accepted on race day.

If it is detected that a registered participant has transferred their entry to another person to replace them in the event, the runner who participated will be disqualified and both parties (the original registrant and the replacement) will be excluded from future events organized by the Organization.
Accreditation and race kit pickup are personal and may not be completed by a third party.

*If the registration fee is paid in installments, installments must be paid monthly. This is not an automatic debit system. Upon payment of the first installment, the registration fee is frozen.

*Late payment interest of 1% per day. After 30 days of non-payment, the installment plan will be cancelled and the amounts paid will be forfeited.

ART. 6 – PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY
The participant declares under oath that they will undergo a medical check-up prior to the race and present a valid medical certificate at check-in. They accept all associated risks (falls, contact with others, disease transmission, weather effects, terrain hazards, etc.).

Participation implies responsibility for the data provided, full acceptance of the race regulations, liability waiver, terms & conditions, and fee payment.

By participating, the runner releases TMX SRL, MKM, Spartan Race SAU, sponsors, affiliates, controlling companies, representatives, directors, and shareholders from any claim or liability, including theft, damage, injury, or health issues before, during, or after the race.

Under no circumstances may minors compete in longer distances.

External assistance is not permitted on course or aid stations. Staff will be available.

There will be Aid and Control Stations and a Full Aid Station at Horcones for 60K runners. They may send a drop bag (up to 5kg). Bags are not refrigerated. Organization is not responsible for loss or damage.
ART. 12 – ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Much of the race takes place inside Aconcagua Provincial Park. This is a unique privilege.

Runners must not litter and must carry waste to the Aid Stations or Finish.

Trash containers will be available.

Littering = immediate disqualification (non-negotiable).

Park Rangers may stop runners and file legal sanction reports.
ART. 13 – MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
The race bib is mandatory and must be worn on the front, visible at all times — required for all distances.

If hidden, runners may be stopped by Rangers to verify park entry permission.

Each distance has a specific mandatory gear list provided in the Runner Guide.

ART.13.1 MANDATORY EQUIPMENT CONTROL
ART.13.1.1 DISTANCE 60K (Pre-Start Control): A thorough mandatory equipment check will be carried out at the start area, from 4:45h to 5:15h.
Important: Runners who do not present themselves for inspection within the scheduled time will not be allowed to start with the main group. They must remain in the control area until all runners have been cleared and complete the inspection before starting their race.
ART.13.1.2 OTHER DISTANCES (Random Control): For the remaining distances, mandatory equipment checks will be carried out randomly during the course. The Organization may conduct full or partial checks at any point along the course to verify compliance with the regulations.

ART. 14 – PENALTIES
No participant may be accompanied by cars, motorcycles, bicycles, or any other vehicle. Nor may they be accompanied by a person specifically assigned to assist the competitor. If this occurs, the participant will be penalized with disqualification.

Assistance between competitors is allowed without any penalty.

The use of OXYGEN (in aerosol or any form other than natural air) is prohibited.

Only those competitors who complete the full course of the distance in which they are registered, as determined by the Organization, will be classified.

Competitors who do not complete the distance will be classified as DNF (international acronym = Did Not Finish).

No intermediate distance certifications will be issued. For example, if a participant runs 60K and does not complete the distance (only reaching km 50), no certification will be issued for the distance completed.

Those who complete their distance outside the final time established by the Organization or with a shortened course due to not reaching a cut-off time at an Aid Station will be classified as DNF.

If any competitor notices that another is in trouble, it is mandatory to notify the Organization.

Any participant who engages in unsportsmanlike conduct, fails to follow the instructions of the Organization staff, and/or violates these regulations will be disqualified.

In case of withdrawal, the competitor has the non-transferable obligation to notify the Organization. Notification will only be accepted at Aid Stations, the Start, or the Finish. Marshals or personnel outside these locations will not register the withdrawal.

Competitors must inform if they are under medical treatment, present certificates and prescriptions, and declare any substances they are consuming. This information must be provided during check-in.

The detection of any substances listed by WADA will result in immediate disqualification and permanent exclusion from future editions.

Prohibited Substances: The list of prohibited substances is based on the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) list. The list is available on the website: https://wada-main-prod.s3.amazonaws.com/resources/files/wada-2016-prohibited-list-esp.pdf
