ABOUT ACONCAGUA PROVINCIAL PARK
Mount Aconcagua, at 6,962 meters, is part of the Andes mountain range and its summit is the highest in the Americas.
Mount Aconcagua is located within a Provincial Park, which belongs to the province of Mendoza. It is a protected natural area of 71,000 hectares that preserves a high-mountain ecosystem, with glaciers that feed different rivers and a natural beauty that attracts visitors from all over the world.
Aconcagua Park is located 185 km from Mendoza city and can be reached via Route 7 (the same road leading to the Cristo Redentor tunnel and the border with Chile). The road is in good condition but has many curves and cliffs, so extreme caution is recommended. During winter, snow may block the road and make it impassable.
