ABOUT ACONCAGUA PROVINCIAL PARK
Mount Aconcagua, with its 6,962 meters, is part of the Andes mountain range, where its summit reaches the highest altitude in America.
Mount Aconcagua is located within a Provincial Park, that belongs to the province of Mendoza.It is a protected natural area of 71,000 hectares that preserves a high mountain ecosystem, with glaciers that give rise to different rivers and possess natural beauty that attracts visitors from all over the world.
Aconcagua Park is located 185 km from the city of Mendoza and can be reached via Route 7 (the same route that leads to the Cristo Redentor tunnel and the Chilean border). The road is in good condition but has many curves and cliffs, so it is recommended to drive with extreme caution. During winter, snow can block the road and make it impassable.
To reach the park by bus you can take a bus from the ANDESMAR company. Travel time by bus from Mendoza is 4 hours.
You can also visit Aconcagua Park with a guided tour. Travel agencies in the city of Mendoza organize daily tours to visit the park.

Aconcagua Provincial Park Prices
To do the treks, an entrance fee and permit must be paid, the price of which depends on whether the trek is for one day, short, or long. The fees also differ for Argentine residents, Latin Americans, or the rest of the world. To see the price list, visit: www.aconcagua.mendoza.gov.ar

- For the one-day trek from Horcones to Confluencia online registration is not required. Payment and permits are obtained at the Horcones Visitor Center.

Uspallata is located at a crossroads (Route 7, Route 52, and Route 149). Taking Route 7 leads to the Cristo Redentor Tunnel on the Chilean border, passing through Los Penitentes, Puente del Inca, the Aconcagua Provincial Park, and Las Cuevas beforehand.
Distances from Uspallata: City of Mendoza 120 km, Puente del Inca 70 km, Cristo Redentor Tunnel 86 km, Penitentes 64 km, Aconcagua Provincial Park 74 km (Horcones).
How to get there? By car: Starting from the City of Mendoza, take National Route 40, travel approximately 24 km until reaching Perdriel, where you take National Route 7. Continue for about 44 km to Potrerillos and then follow Route 7 for a little over 50 km until you finally reach Uspallata.

LOS PENITENTES
The town of Los Penitentes, is located 182 km from the City of Mendoza, Argentina, and a few kilometers from the Chilean border. It has experienced significant development thanks to Penitentes ski center located there and serving as a base for expeditions to Aconcagua.
Distances from Penitentes: City of Mendoza 182 km, Uspallata 64 km, Las Cuevas 21 km, Puente del Inca 8 km, Aconcagua Provincial Park 10 km (Horcones).
How to get there? By car: From Uspallata, take National Route 7 and travel approximately 64 km. Passing Las Cuevas, you will reach the Los Penitentes ski center on the left. By bus, with the Andesmar line from Mendoza.
